Last year, we asked our team a simple question, are you passionate about working in hospo? We were looking for our next batch of eager team members, who were passionate about what they did, and were keen to fast track their careers into pub management through the Assistant Manager Pathway Program. An exclusive learning and development course that provides team members with the tools to grow their leadership capabilities and sharpen their management skills.

Gaining a nationally accredited Certificate IV in Business qualification at the successful completion of the program, our team not only walk away with suitable tools required to step up into the next level, but also with a handy nationally accredited certificate in their back pocket too.

No boring presentations or dusty lecture theatres to be found, our team gained necessary hands-on experience across multiple venues learning from industry professionals. Working across three different areas of our business operations, accommodation to gaming to food and beverage, they gained exposure leading from the front.

Programs like the Assistant Manager Pathway allow us to invest in our team’s learning and development. Which has always been at the heart of what we do, and in May this year, after months of face to face and digital workshop sessions, our first cohort of soon to be Assistant Managers graduated.

Wrapping up months of hard work with an official graduate ceremony, key members of ALH and representative venue leadership teams were present to see our graduates receive their certificates (to roaring applause) and present their key learnings and takeaways to the broader group.

The next instalment of the Assistant Manager Pathway Program kicks off across Victoria and New South Wales early next month, with another soon to follow in 2024.
