These boots runners were made for walking, for more than 24 hours it turns out. Last week, the ALH team limbered up and took to the treadmills, all in the name of Very Special Kids.

The Very Special Kids 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge is a fundraising event, held each year, that runs for 24 hours straight, where participants take turns running or walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes at a time. All proceeds raised over the 24 hours go directly to Very Special Kids, an organisation that provides specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and support for their families.

A cause close to our hearts, the team strutted, jogged and sprinted their way through the 24 hours from the 2nd to the 3rd of June, some taking the overnight time slot and pyjama theme very seriously, with their bedtime attire proudly on display (no judgement allowed).

With a grand total of $139,709 raised for Very Special Kids, we were named The 2023 24-Hour Challenge Champions, a title we’re very proud to hold.

A huge congratulations to the ALH team members who took part in this year's treadmill challenge, for raising important funds to help improve the quality of life for children and young people.
