The ALH pub food challenge, now in its 4th year, is a competition to unlock creativity, innovation and inspiration within our chef brigade. Supplier collaboration is an integral part of our business and we thank our key partners Nestle Professional & M&J for supporting this event.

From 93 venue entries across 6 states, 37 state finalists presented dishes for judging, with the top 3 teams arriving in Sydney late August.

In the final cook off teams were required to plan & prepare a 2 course meal, using local produce & featuring one of the core proteins – whole chicken, whole duck, or jumbo quail. In addition, each dish needed to showcase two Nestle ingredients. Contestants were judged on preparation techniques, teamwork, work flow, hygiene, organisation, balance of dish, depth of flavour, create use of Nestle ingredients, presentation, creative flair & overall execution.

We are proud to congratulate Team WA - Wendy & Nicole from the Balmoral Hotel who have won a culinary journey through Tasmania to broaden their knowledge and provide further inspiration to take back to the WA chef team.
