FACIAL RECOGNITION & AGE ESTIMATION TECHNOLOGY IN OPERATION

Cameras within gaming areas operated by Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group (ALH Group) use Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) to identify self-excluded and banned persons, and Age Estimation Technology (AET) to identify underage persons.

By entering a gaming area, you consent to having an image of your face recorded for these purposes. If you do not wish to be recorded or have your biometric data collected, please do not enter the gaming area.

How it works

FRT and AET are only used for the purposes stated above. They are not used to monitor everyday patrons or staff.

Facial Recognition: When FRT is used, biometric data generated from your image will be compared against our exclusions database to determine a match.

Age Estimation: When AET is used, your image will be analysed by software using an algorithm to estimate if you are underage.

Every alert is reviewed by trained staff before any action is taken.

If a match is identified using either technology, you may be removed from the gaming area.

Our use of FRT and AET has been designed with strong safeguards. Biometric and/or other personal data is collected, stored, used and disclosed by ALH Group in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), our privacy policy and any other applicable laws.

All biometric and/or other personal data collected will be deleted after an appropriate retention period. Any personal information that is collected and retained is securely stored and subject to strict data security controls.
