What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are a great way to enter the workforce.
An apprenticeship is a training contract between an employer and an employee in which the apprentice learns the skills needed for a particular occupation or trade.
An apprenticeship can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis and can be used as a valuable stepping stone to start a career in an industry you want to work in.
As an apprentice you can
- Learn valuable, nationally recognised job skills
- Get paid while learning
- Combine training from a TAFE or training provider with workplace-based training
Who can do an apprenticeship?
Are you particularly interested in a career in hospitality, but would like to finish your schooling? You can talk to your Careers Advisor about a school-based apprenticeship or feel free to contact ALH Group to discuss this further. Under a school-based apprenticeship, you will spend time at school, time with your employer, and some time doing training with a TAFE or training provider.
